SAIS is getting ready to launch a new series of Underwater LED lights specially designed for use in underwater broadcast video projects and for high-end prosumers.
There will be a ~2000 lumen version and a ~ 6000 lumen version. Both come with rechargeable Li-Ion battery packs that will provide more than 1 hour of continuos operation at full power and over 2 hours at half power.
I will add more technical details after the launch in mid-November.

The interest in the housings and what we have available seems to be growing so I thought that I would post some of the dimensions and depth ratings for the Aluminum series here. All these are available up to 36 inches in length as well as in titanium (for deeper applications) and some in plastic (although the cost is not much less than aluminum).
These are “Off-the-Shelf” housings that you can adapt to your own needs or have us do some modifications for you. We can also provide internal chassis for mounting your package on. Brackets for mounting the housings onto your vehicle or other platform are also available.
We can drill the appropriate holes in the end-cap for your connectors too and also provide anodizing to help prolong the life of the housing.
This is just a small sampling of the sizes that we can do. Everything is made in the US and we can usually provide quick turn around times (2 weeks in one case, last September).
Here are the ‘Standard’ Aluminum sizes:

As promised - here are some post-anodized pictures of the housing that was custom fit with a dome to house a camera.
The rear end cap is machined for three wet-pluggable connectors that the customer will add.

Unfinished Custom Aluminum Housing after Pressure Testing.
Here’s a photo of a custom housing that we are working on for a customer in Texas. It is an aluminum housing with a 4.25in OD, and 7.5in of internal space. One end has been modified to accomadate the 6in diam. dome that you see in the photo. The customer will be placing their own camera inside it. This one is a going to be rated for relatively shallow use (68m / 230ft) but it is actually capable of going about three times that depth (205m / 675ft). The design is based on the 1000m / 3280ft housing (see our housing flyer sais-pressure-housings) and it could be modified to go that deep. The main limiting factor here is the dome.
The basic machine work is done except for the the connector holes. The customer is supplying the connectors but will not be shipping them to us for installation so we will not be able to pressure test the housing after we make the connector holes in the endcap. Instead, we stopped machining at this point and I pressure tested it to 70m for several cycles and one long hold. All went well so it was disassembled and the endcap is back on the mill to make the connector holes now. After that is compelte, all the parts will be off to the platers for anodizing. I will post photos of the final piece before sending it off to Texas.
