    8 inch Glass Dome for GATES Underwater Products Inc

    I am pleased to announce that one of our recent design projects - an eight inch optically clear glass dome for an underwater housing - is going into production.  On Friday last (April 17, 2009) I met John Ellerbrock, president of GATES Underwater Products Inc down in Point Loma at the SeaBotix Inc factory where he was using their pressure vessel to test a series of sample domes by repetitive dives to 350 psi (equivalent to approx 786ft / 240m).   All the domes passed with no problems and so it is on to production.  The domes will be used on the new DEEP RED housing for the RED camera.  SubAqua Imaging Systems Inc designed the dome and the sealing and seating mechanism.

    Hello to all visitors,

    A quick summary of what we are working on at the moment:

    • Glass Dome and parts of the mounting system for GATES Deep RED Housing for the RED ONEcamera
    • Working on a proposal for a submersible system for a diver (sorry about the lack of specifics - will elaborate when NDA allows)
    • Wrapping up details on contract to begin work on design of some BIG lights (more details to follow as we get going)
    • Starting to “cut metal” on our first CUSTOM housing from the SAIS off-the-shelf line of housings.  This one is being adapated to house a camera and will have a clear dome on the front.

    Those are the highlights for the moment.  I will post some photos as they become available.
